The Alzheimer's Association, Maine Chapter serves the entire State of Maine from its Portland office. There are approximately 30,000 families in Maine who are affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Their vision is a world without Alzheimer's disease.

The Maine Cancer Foundation founded in 1976, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of Maine people by:
Funding scientific laboratory and clinical research, professional and public education and patient support programs.
A grant-making organization, the Foundation funds cancer research, education and patient support programs throughout Maine.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Each wish surrounds the child with magical moments and touches everyone involved.

Maine Special Olympics

Maine Special Olympics mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage , experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
