Thanks to all who attended and generously donated! All the planning and hard work paid off! The convention was a big hit and everyone had a great time. As host club it was nice to see members from other clubs who hosted conventions have a chance to let loose and not have to work. Stay tuned for pictures and the final numbers for the amount raised! Benefits are the Maine Alzheimer's Association, Maine Cancer Foundation, Maine Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Maine Special Olympics.

The Parrot Head Club of Maine ROCKED Margaritaville in CT on Sunday night! It was definitely a VIP occasion. Fantastic food, open bar, rockin’ band, New England Parrot Heads everywhere…it doesn’t get much better. (Jimmy “The Great Pumpkin” didn’t show up) Wish everyone could have been there…
Giving the Gift of Life! This year's second Parrot Head Club of Maine Blood Drive was held on Saturday, Sept 20, 2008 at the American Red Cross Blood Center in Portland, Maine. The drive started at 8AM and ended at 2PM, with thirty-seven people, donating blood including five club members. Club members volunteered to escort donors to the refreshment area and distribute refreshments. There was shrimp, corn chips and virgin margaritas as well as the usual refreshment available to the donors. The donors were able to relax to the music of Jimmy Buffett, Harry Belafonte, Bob Marley and numerous other Buffett style singers and many a foot was seen tapping. Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who made the blood drive a success, once again showing that Parrot Heads can party with a purpose!
Several club members attended the Newport Folk Festival last week and were right up front for Jimmy Buffett. A great time was had by all and new friendships were made. After the show the group got to rub elbows with Peter and Jim Mayer from the band!
