Hey, our 5 minutes of fame! We have the honor of being chosen Parrothead Club of the Month for September by Tropical Dreams. 
Several club members attended the Newport Folk Festival last week and were right up front for Jimmy Buffett. A great time was had by all and new friendships were made. After the show the group got to rub elbows with Peter and Jim Mayer from the band!
$1572 Raised for Special Olympics Maine Thank you to The Brunswick for hosting us once again this year and Heather Ross & Rob Thompson for their help with running the tournament. The weather was great most of the day, with a brief rain interruption. The results: #1 - Gold Medal Team - Fat Belly Deli #2 - Silver Medal Team - The Brunswick #3 - Bronze Medal Team - Aquaholics Thanks to all of the members and non-members alike who showed up to support the club and Special Olympics Maine!! April 4-6 Sunday River Ski Resort Another great year! It was a perfect mix of mid-winter snow conditions and tropical fever with some great bands and some good cheer! Many thanks to Sunday River Ski Resort for hosting the Parrothead Festival. See you all next year! Thanks also to the bands for keeping us all dancing (and warm!): Changes in Latitude The Corona Brothers Pirate Dreams Parrot Beach The Cocabanana Band NE Convention 2008 in Newport RI Many thanks to Ocean State Parrothead Club for putting on another super New England Parrothead convention! A BIG thank you to all the volunteers and donors for taking time out of their busy holiday schedules and saving a life! We helped collect 30 units of blood. Also a very big thank-you to Margaritaville Shrimp for donating some of their tasty shrimp that went well with our virgin margaritas!  Please consider being an organ donor today!
